A Fresh, New Start
Before deciding on the components of the boys’ new room, Jim and Maria
decided that it would be best to ask the kids what they wanted. Jared liked
race cars and often played racing games on his video game system. Michael
was more interested in other sports like baseball and basketball. So the
challenge for Jim and Maria was to create a bedroom that both boys would
enjoy and that could provide enough room to accommodate both.
Since both boys were partial to bright blue, they decided to paint the walls in the bedroom with a washable, kid-proof blue paint and the trim with durable, enamel white that would be easy to clean. Maria thought that a wallpaper border with a sports oriented theme might also be a nice touch too.
Let the Games Begin
Jared and Michael were in great need of new beds since the bunk beds they
were using now had belonged to Jim and his brother. They were beginning to
